multiple pcs accessing one backend on a file share - on linux

We have setup a new linux box for basic file sharing and I noticed a problem
with connecting to our msaccess backend...

Only one user can connect, the other users can't because they can't lock the
file/it's already in use.

This was never a problem if the backend was on a windows box. Are there ANY
workarounds to this problem? Workaround being anything but putting the
backend on a windows pc.

Dude,

Is this a Samba problem, not an Access one?
