my office 2007 wont install on my laptop

I have a brand new Toshiba Satellite laptop and i am trying to install a
brand new copy of Office home and student 2007. However, when i place the
disk into the cd/dvd drive, nothing happens. I have tried to play a normal
dvd/cd and that works perfect so it is not the drive. Can someone please
advise me how to install office 2007 on my laptop please.

Off hand, it sounds like you might have a defective DVD. Have you tried
opening Windows Explorer, then navigating to the cd/dvd drive to see if it's
"seeing" the disk? If it is, you should see a program named "setup" or
"autorun". Try double-clicking one of those.
