My Places in Office 2007

I just moved from Office 2003 to 2007. I can't find an equivalent to My
Places in the Open and Save dialogs; all I see is a navigation bar. Is there
some way to add My Places or its equivalent? And once I have it, how do I
edit it?

That is the "My Places", select a folder in the large window and then
R-click in the "My places" area.

What large window do I use? I don't see a "my places" area in any window,
including when I click on the Windows logo in the upper left and then click
Open.

After clicking open, the dialog box that appears has 2 panes, a narrow
one on the left (what you refer to as "My Places") and a wide one to the
right of it, containing files and folders. Select a folder in the right
pane, then Right-click in left pane for the options menu.

Ah, great question.

Go the File, Open dialog box.
Navigate to the folder you want to add and select it.
Rightclick in the pane on the left of the dialog and choose "Add [foldername]"
from the popup menu.

Thanks, Steve and Bob.

I guess I figured it out. I need to right-click on "Favorites" in that left
pane, and that allows to me to add a location. (Right-clicking in an empty
area of the left pane provides only two choices: "show all folders" and
"expand to current folder" -- there's nothing like "add [foldername]".)
