No valid source...for product DAO

Gordon Jones

My church accounting program uses .mde format, and References DAO 3.60. One
user is set up with two different church folders containing two different
..mdb files. After switching to Access 2003 (from 2002) he is now getting "no
valid source could be found for product DAO..." message when he opens my
program. When he is finally able to cancel out, it opens the db. Since the
program is .mde, there is no way for him to go to the references, and the DAO
is already installed in the original program, and compiled in the .mde
version. Any thoughts?

Hi, Gordon.
After switching to Access 2003 (from 2002) he is now getting "no
valid source could be found for product DAO..." message when he opens my
program.

Microsoft Office Access 2003 was not installed correctly. Depending upon
the cause, there are different solutions to fix the problem. Please read the
following Web pages for these solutions:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?id=297834

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?id=297103

A number of people have complained that uninstalling and reinstalling Office
2003 doesn't fix the problem. It may very well be that the original partial
installation can't be completed due to lack of network connection, lack of
the original installation media, or lack of administrative permissions, and
the Windows Registry settings for that partial installation prevent a
successful uninstall and re-install. If this is the case, then use the
Windows Installer CleanUp utility, which can be downloaded from the following
Web page, before attempting to reinstall the complete Office 2003 Suite
applications under the Windows Administrator account:
