Object libray not registered

When clicking on Tools | References in Word 97's VBIDE, I get a message
"Object library not registered".

If I click on Help, I see:

"The Visual Basic for Applications object library is no longer a standalone
file; it is integrated into the dynamic-link library (DLL).

In earlier versions, when you started an application that uses Visual Basic
for Applications, certain object libraries were loaded. This error has the
following cause and solution:

An attempt was made to load a previous version of the Visual Basic for
Applications object library (vaxxx.olb) or host application object
libraries. However, the correct language version of these object libraries
could not be found in the system registry.

Reregister your application. On the Macintosh, delete the vba.ini file
from the Macintosh Preferences folder, and restart your application."

A similar, if not identical, problem is described in KB article 315576, but
it refers to the Pocket PC.

What's the solution.?

Note that Excel 97 has no such problems.

My recollection is that I last used Tools | References in Word 97 on 27 May
2004, if not more recently.

As a last resort, I'd have to re-install Office 97.
I expect there should be a simpler solution.

Problem solved.

Cause was a broken reference to the VBA Extensibility Library in a template
in Word's Startup directory.

Best I can tell is that I last changed that template on 20 March 2004.

I copied the template from Word 2003 (multiboot system with different Office
in each partition) to the Word 97 Startup directory and likely forgot to
change the reference for the library.

Don't know why the problem appeared this week.
I'm fairly certain that I had used Tools | References in Word 97 on 27 May
2004, tho the evidence would indicate otherwise.
