Office 2002 files (word, ppt, excel) not opening after installing

I have just installed XP Prof Service Pack 2 and cannot open Office 2002
files (word, ppt, excel etc).
Dialog box says:
the file - xxx - is unavailable; or
cannot read file
Can anyone please help.

Disable the office plug-in in your anti-virus software; if that fixes the
problem, contact the supplier for settings that will work with Office.
