There are lots of Windows users still using Office 95 through Office
2000 versions and switching to OpenOffice.org. I provide support for a
very large userbase throughout the USA and starting to find the majority
of Windows users using Office 95 and Office 2000 or OpenOffice.org.
Software license costs, upgrade costs, and other financial factors have
impacted companies and users from upgrading to later Office versions and
switching to OpenOffice when they find it more cost effective and suites
their needs.

There is a trend of Windows users that has not upgraded to Office 2003.
Some of it relates to features where their existing Office version is
adequate, cost where the user sees Office is expensive where it costs
more than their computer, and others are tired of security flaws and
bloated Office installation where the find OpenOffice better.

Microsoft needs to drastically cut the cost of Office to make it
affordable, which would probably reduce software piracy on Office, and
quit making Office convoluted and bloated if they want Office 2005 to
flourish (or keep dominating like their monopolistic operating system to
keep a monoculture computing society).
