First problem resulted with MS Project 2007 B2TR not functioning properly.
Tried to Repair but got corrupt installation database error.

Tried reinstalling B2TR. Failed. Got 'corrupted installation database' most
likely reason. Only error found in setup log was "Error: Type:
UnexpectedError."

Tried removing Office 2007 B2. Got uninstallation could not be completed.
Setup log revealed the following:

Error: Type: UnexpectedError.
Error: Failed to configure: ErrorCode: 1612(0x64c).

How can I safely remove the corrupt installation database?

Hi R.D.U.,

The corrupt installation message often refers to an incomplete or damaged download of either the Beta base files or B2TR file, but
it could releate to damaged Local Installation source (hidden folder \
MSOCache) or a registry pointer issue.

Have you worked through the steps in
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923718/en-us?FR=1
If you aren't able to repair an installation then (getting the same error) then it's likely something in the already installed Beta2
files.

You may want to also use the link below to post to the MS Office Project newsgroup.

Thanks for the information Bob.

I've installed B2TR and reinstalled it in the past with no problems. I do
believe it's either a damaged local installation source or a registry pointer
issue.

No, I haven't worked through the steps in the support article you referenced
but will. I'll let you know the results.

If that process doesn't work what other options do I have? All programs with
the exception of Project function nominally. I did post a similar message to
the Project newsgroup.

Bob--

I worked through the steps in the support article you suggested, creating
the necessary troubleshooting logs.

The short story is "The installation source for this product is not
available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it."

Other ideas for a fix? I've seen one posted in the newsgroups but it is
pretty intensive in deleting installation directories and registry pointers.
