Hello
I bought a new computer running Window Vista X86 with SP1. I was trying to
install Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise that my school provided us. But I
always get the errer message "Error 2203. An internal error has occurred.
(C:\Windows\Installer\471590.ipi -2147287035 ) Contact Microsoft Product
Support Services (PPS) for assistance. For information about how to contact
PSS, see C:\Users\~my user
name~\AppData\Local\Temp\Setup00000c34\PSS10R.CHM." with a pop up window
saying "Error 1310. Error writing to file: C:\Config.Msi\471789.rbf. Verify
that you have access to that directory."
Any ideas how to solve this?

After talking to MS tech support. He disabled User Account Control inside Vista and Office 2007 installed with no problem.

Good luck.

We have no idea what you are talking about. You should never change
the subject line. It breaks the thread.

Congratulations on whatever got fixed.

This solved my problem also. After trying a number of times to install
Office Ultimate 2007 on Vista and each time getting the "error 2203" message
(but finding no sign of the file it said to look for in the specified
directory for further instructions), I simply temporarily disabled the UAC
and it installed with no problems.
