Office 2008 components deleted from mac library. How to get them b

I'm using a Macbook running Leopard.

I recently attempted to delete my browsing history on my Macbook (I went to
Finder, clicked on Search For in the sidebar, clicked All Documents, and
dragged them all to the trash). Obviously my intention was only to delete the
history but in fact I ended up deleting every document I ever opened on the
computer.

There was no option to undo, or to restore the files (approximately 9000) to
their original location, so I had to just drag them out of the trash to the
desktop and manually sort them back to their original location.

That worked for most of the files, such as picture, music and documents, but
I was left with about 2000 files from the library, most of them having
something to do with Microsoft Office 2008, which I don't know where to put
back. These include Microsoft Excel Workbook .xlsx files, Microsoft
PowerPoint Template .potx files, Microsoft Word Template .docx files, and
Microsoft 2003 XML Format .xml files amongst others.

I assume that these files belong to Office and need to be in the correct
library folder for it to run, as none of the Microsoft Office components
(Word, Excel, Powerpoint) now function. For example, when I try to run Word,
it opens for about a second, and then I get an error message. The error
details begin like this:

Microsoft Error Reporting log version: 2.0

Error Signature:
Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS
Date/Time: 2008-03-14 16:09:16 +0000
Application Name: Microsoft Word
Application Bundle ID: com.microsoft.Word
Application Signature: MSWD
Application Version: 12.0.0.071130
Crashed Module Name: OSServices
Crashed Module Version: unknown
Crashed Module Offset: 0x00023350
Blame Module Name: OSServices
Blame Module Version: unknown
Blame Module Offset: 0x00023350
Application LCID: 1033
Extra app info: Reg=en Loc=0x0409

Basically my problem is that I have about 2000 files from the library in a
folder on my desktop, and don't know where to put them. I'd appreciate any
help you could give me.

Thanks

It will be a lot quicker to run the Installer again, than it will be to
figure out where they all go.

You have the documents back: the installer will create a clean version of
the applications for you.

Don't forget to re-apply the update after you re-install. And put those
program and preference files back in the trash.

Cheers
