Office home and student 2007

I just bought Office Home and student 2007 at best buy. Cannot get it to
install. I have Windows XP, service pack 2. The cd loads. I enter the
Product Key. I accept the license agreement. The installation Progress
screen comes up but then shortly disappears and I get an error box:
"Microsoft Office Home and Student Setup, Microsoft Office Home and Student
2007 setup did not complete successfully. We are sorry for the
inconvenience. An error occurred during installation, and Microsoft Office
Home and Student 2007 setup was unable to complete. Please tell Microsoft
about the problem."
I have tried many times with no luck. I had others also try on same pc in
case I was doing something wrong. Also cannot find a place on the Microsoft
site to get free advice to install their program. They all want money.

Double check but I think you need to put on Service Pack 3 on XP

Also do you have an exisiting version of Office on your PC?

If you do I would suggest removing it first then try.

I know you issue about contacting support they want all your money to ask a
question.

It is the fault of all those people that did not know how to turn on their
pc and called microsoft to get help with the mouse kb etc.

Good luck

Tom
