ON 2007 - Sharepoint 2003 - Vista Ultimate, compatible?

I'm trying to share a notebook on a hosted sharepoint site- without success.

ON seems unable to "see" my shared doc libraries (I actually get a login
prompt, when I enter my domain name). I've tried many combinations of path
names- including creating several subsites and alternatively named document
libraries on my sharepoint site.

I'm using the "create shared notebook" wizard.

I have no problem creating/using doc spaces with other office 2007 apps.

After reviewing previous threads on this topic- sounds like others might
have been having similar problems, but I didn't see any definitive answers-
other than a suggestion to use webdav (which might create add'l problems if I
have mixed XP/Vista machines, which I do).

BTW- my domain name has a "-" in it. No idea if that creates problems...

All the docs imply this should work- so hoping I'm missing something simple.

TIA
Scott

When you fill in your login information, what happens? I have found that
sometimes OneNote asks for my information two or three times before it will
actually connect.... That said, I do know that it works - so if we can
figure out what is going on in your case, we should be able to get you
working too.

In answer to what part of the path: The doc lib you connect to will be
treated as the notebook. So the link should be the path to that library Does
that help any?.

(Remember - we can't see what you are seeing. The more you tell us, the
better we can help you.)

Sorry for the delay since my last post. I'd put this issue on the shelf and
resorted to sharing across the LAN (vs our remote sharepoint site).

I've now dusted it off- and am again trying to get some shared notebooks on
sharepoint.

I now believe the issue has something to do with Vista.

I was able to create a new shared notebook from an XP pro machine. When
using the new notebook wizard, at the point where you enter the path then
'browse'- I get exactly what I expect: a pop-up that allows me to
browse/select my document libraries on the sharepoint site. Once setup, I
have no other problems (including sending invites to other XP machines- and
keeping the notebook synched across multiple users).

So- back to Vista. No matter how I try to get to sharepoint via Onenote on
my vista machines- I get an error message.

If I try to open the shared notebook from the notebook->open->paste-in-path
method: "Onenote cannot find the file you specified". Exact same procedure
on XP works fine.

If I click on a onenote file in a browser at the sharepoint site- ON asks if
I want to open the section or notebook- but then presents me with the same
error message above, then an add'l message of "Your request cannot be
completed because the service cannot be found or did not respond. The service
might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your
network settings".

I've now seen multiple postings from others having this problem- but have
yet to see a solution (and MS support over the phone was entirely useless:
they kept pushing me to the Sharepoint support folks, who'd only speak to me
for ~$250. All in spite of the fact that I've had no other sharepoint issues,
including with other Office 2007 apps).

Help!!!

thanks
scott
