Onenote Feature Request

Hello,

Thanks for the great product. I have several feature requests I hope you
will consider for the next version.

1. Option to attach files in an "attached file" section instead of as
embedded in the page. I.E. Have them attach like they do in outlook in HTML
mode instead of Rich Text mode. This could display at the bottom of the page
and perhaps be a collapsible box. Additional functionality would include a
field for the original source of the doc (say a URL or file location) as well
as a field for a short description of the doc. For PDFs or word docs, other
fields might populate when it was made etc.)

2. The relation of pages and subpages should be made slightly stronger so
that a subpage would move with a page.

3. Currently when viewing one page in two windows (say writing in one part
and viewing in another) Onenote will occasionally move both windows to
viewing the same spot. (If you type and hit ctrl-z, both will move to that
spot). This should be fixed.

4. I don't know what it's called, but other office products have a bar you
can drag down to have two view of the same page in one window. Add this
feature.

5. Ability to turn on the text/audio linking functionality after the
recording has stopped. I.E. Record audio of a interview or conference. Then
go back and hit play + link and start typing important bits. This
functionality is there while recording, but would have additional usefulness
if you could build it out a bit later.

6. Ability to shrink a text box so that not all of the text would be
displayed. I.E. If I put several documents in, I could shrink them so less
important ones don't take as much space.

You can resize the text boxes to make them wider or narrower - just drag
the right edge of the box sideways. You can also collapse indented
paragraphs by doubleclicking the drag handle next to the main paragraph.
For example, if you have notes that look like this:
+ This is a heading
This is some indented text
This is more indented text
You can collapse the indented text by doubleclicking the + (representing
the drag handle). Does that help with your scenario?

In general, for feature suggestions, please enter them under

Thanks for your efforts to suggest improvements for ON.

Although in this newsgroup (being a "peer-to-peer" forum) you reach the
*users*, the proper place for submitting suggestions and bug reports to
the developers team would be "Connect:
http://connect.microsoft.com/onenote/

When done, pls drop a note with the URL in here so that we can jump in
and vote for your suggestion.

I think he is thinking: shrink the text box from the bottom and get a scroll
bar.

This functionality is there already.
I use it rather often.

If one starts the playback and types text, a Return-key will create the
link to the current position of the recording.
