Out Of Office message (V11 = 2003) - Tell me where to go, please

J

Jef.

I have a COM add-in that logs into a database server using an expiring
password. The user turned on the Outlook Out Of Office Assistant and went on
vacation. When he returned, his password had expired. My add-in raised a
message box and told the user that his credentials were no longer valid. When
he Ok'd that message, my add-in raised its login dialog. Then Outlook asked
the user if he wanted to turn off the assistant before continuing.

BUT!

The Outlook modal message is "displayed" below the taskbar, offscreen. So
the user does not see it. Everything visible is disabled, the only enabled
dialog is not seen.

Is there a solution? Other than tell them to upgrade their Office product.
My add-in must log in as Outlook starts, so the details must be correct from
the beginning

I know I can tell the user to right-click the taskbar button fro the message
box, then to move the cursor with the arrow keys, then use the mouse to drop
the message box in a visible place - then press the correct button. But
that's too much to expect my users to remember.

So, HELP!!!!

Thanks,
Jef.
