Outlook 2003 auto complete doesn't work

M

Meenie

I have Outlook 2003 and it won't auto complete names in the "TO" field (or cc
or bcc)
I looked in Options and both "automatic name checking" and "suggest names
while completing to, cc and bcc" are checked.

I closed down outlook and checked task manager to make sure it wasn't still
running

I went to the .nk2 file name and changed it to profilename.bak.

Auto completion starts to work but when I restart my computer and reopen
Outlook, it won't work again and starts "learning" the names all over again.
Once I type a name in, it will know it again until I shut my computer down,
then I have to start all over again again!

I do work in a company and we work through a server.
Is there any help for my forgetful computer?
Thanks, Meenie

This means you profile is corrupt and the only fix is to recreate the
profile.

thanks Diane, my IT guy finally came and fixed it. (I've been asking them for
MONTHS) He just deleted the NK2 file instead of renaming it and it recreated
it and works fine now, thank goodness. That feature is great for me, I send a
zillion emails to a bazillion people a day! LOL and it was a real pain not
having it.
