Outlook 2003 Hangs on Exit - "Please wait while Microsoft Outlook exits"

We recently installed Outlook 2003 on a new Windows XP Pro computer. When
the user exits the Outlook 2003, a dialog box appears with the message
"Please wait while Microsoft Outlook exits." The dialog box remains until
the computer is restarted or the process is ended using the Task Manager.

All users are using Outlook 2003 and we've got Exchange Server 2003.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Does the user have a PDA? Is it docked? Try undocking it and see if Outlook
exits properly. Sometimes ActiveSync can prevent Outlook from closing.

Other typical culprits of this issue are:

1. Add-ins for Outlook (Anti-virus, anti-spam, fax, etc)
2. Custom forms
3. Programs like Blackberry sync and Wireless Sync from verizon.

No on the PDA... But we DO have Symantec Client Security running. I'll try
working that end of things. Thanks so much for the tip! MikeE
