Outlook 2003 not displaying the first embedded image ?

If I get an email in Outlook - this is the corporate version – where
there’s embedded images within the body of the email, it doesn’t show
the first image until I start to forward the email.
I can open the image and or view it in the reading pane and it doesn’t
show the first image.
The image arrives at the far end and can be seen by the majority of
recipients, though a small number like me can’t see it ?!
If there’s just one image it shows it…?!

We've all compared settings and can't see anything different - apart
from a few small personal differences of course...

Any pointers that I can pass on to my IT dept gratefully received…
