I recently updated my Office 2002 to Office 2003 and all works fine
except Outlook 2003
After upgrading to Office 2003, the Windows Installer flashes in
Outlook 2003 with every email that opens. ONLY when email enters the
Inbox, Installer Window flashes for an instant and then disappears.
ALSO: I often get a prompt before Outlook 2003 loads that reads:
"Microsoft Office Outlook cannot install the Add-In. Would you like to
install it now?" ---
Makes no difference if I say "Yes" or "No" -- same outcome. Hundreds
of instances of The Flasher: Windows Installer.
Tried:
Uninstalling/Reinstalling Outlook 2003
Uninstalled/Reinstalled Cloudmark Spamnet
Ran Outlook 2003 w/out Spamnet -- no difference
Uninstalled/Reinstalled Adobe 6.0 -- since it has an Add-In
Ran Outlook 2003 w/out Adobe installed - no difference
Installed Office 2003 SP 3
Set up new profile in XP and opened Outlook with the new Profile - no
difference
Ran Registry Mechanic --found a few errors -- none related to this
issue
Checked for and Add-Ins in Outlook 2003, and none are checked.
I am truly stumped. My last resort is to delete Outlook 2003 from the
Windows Installer CleanUP Utility, but I'm not even sure that it's
Outlook 2003 that's called for the Installer?
