Outlook 2007 only starts in Safe Mode

Since some time now, every time I open Outlook I am getting an Error saying:
Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to shut down. Then, the second
time it opens it will open in Safe Mode no problem, so at least I can get
access to my mail, however, this is certainly not the right way. In the
process of trying to fix the problem I have done the following.
Did a repair, did a scanpst, created a new datafile, created a new account
and deleted the old one, did a uninstall and reinstall, disabled all
AntiVirus/Firewall, disabled all add-ins, but nothing helped.

Does anyone have any idea what else I could try?

I would try deleting the file named outcmd.dat. This file may exist under
every OS user profile on the system.

The other file you might try deleting is <outlook_profile_name>.srs file.
This file is what stores your send/receive settings. Therefore when you
delete this one, any customization you had in regards to tweaking the
send/receive settings will be lost and you will have to redo them.

Note: Both of the files above have to be deleted when Outlook isn't running.

Other than that, the only other thing I can think of to isolate the problem
is to try starting Outlook with one of the other 3 safe command line
options. Might give us a clue as to what part of Outlook is having issues.
The 4 safe switches are:

/safe
/safe:1
/safe:3
/safe:4

I believe on a crash/restart, Outlook will autostart with the "/safe"
command line switch. Rather than let it autorestart, start Outlook with one
of the other 3 switches in order to isolate the issue. These switches are
covered in help. Your search term is "command line".
