Outlook integration error

I had the Outlook integration working, and now it appears to have become
broken. I have multiple users/resources attempting to do the same, and on
different PCs, and we are all getting the same error. I have uninstalled
Project Server 2007 and reinstalled and configured, and then the issue
happens again.

The error within Outlook that I get when attempting to import new
assignments is:

SOAP Exception
The server was unable to process the last request.

No errors are in the event log on the server. From the local PC's event
viewer, I get the following error:

The description for Event ID 1 from source MS Project - Outlook Integration
cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed
on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or
repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to
be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

Component: ProjTalkerPSI.cls
Procedure: RetrieveAssignments
Error Number: -2147467259
Error Source: http://projectsrv:56737/SharedServices1/PSI/statusing.asmx

this into PSClientError constructor to access all error information

I did fix it, but I can not recall the method of correction. I had a
complete system outage shortly afterward and had to rebuild the server from
scratch.

If I recall correctly, the SharePoint Shared Services portal was corrupt and
I had to delete it, then recreate it again.

I knew I should have updated my post when I was done!

Sorry Frank.

Has anyone been able to find an answer to this?

There is a post on here titled 'Project add-in for Outlook' which suggests
there is a bug in the software when using the standard implementation of some
fields (the RBS being one).

I suggest you search the forum for this post as it gives a bit more detail.

Hopefully MS will crack it in their SP 1

If you have an Enterprise Resource Custom field(s), update or make sure the
"Calculation for Assignment Rows" is set to to None. Not sure why it fixed
this but I no longer get this error and I'm able to import assignments.
