When creating a new mail message in Outlook, I suddently am showing the
"reveal codes" which I do not want. They do not come up when I am working in
Word.

How do I turn that off??

What "reveal codes"? Do you mean things like {DATE} and {HYPERLINK}? If so,
press Alt+F9 to toggle the field codes back to their results.

Are you talking about the non-printing characters, like paragraph marks, tab
marks, etc. If you are, you must be a recent WordPerfect user - they are not
reveal codes.

Anyway to turn them off in Outlook 2007, start a new message, click the
Office button, and click Editor Options at the bottom.
Click display, and uncheck everything.
