password protected subweb

I am part of a subweb that has admin rights to create additional subwebs from
mine. WE are running Frontpage server extensions 2002 and I am using FP2003
to create the web.

I currently have information on my main site that I have been asked to put
behind a barrior with a user name and password for access. I hvae created a
subweb that successfully asks for a user name and paw for logon.

I want to move serveral document etc into this PW protected area, but when I
simply cut and paste them to the subweb and relink - I can go to the web and
access the protected info without having to type in a user name and PW.

The subweb will only contain the documents that we want PW protected, so I
was assuming that all I had to do was move them to a folder or even on the
root of the subweb, perhaps I am wrong but can you please tell me what I need
to do to set this in motion correctly?

Thanks in advance.

After you moved the documents to the subweb, did you close FP and your browser and then try
accessing the documents directly in the subweb via your browser or from another computer?

FRont page was still open - the browser opened after I saved the changes in
Front page and I accessed from MY computer. COuld it still be looking at me
as the admin and logging me in automatically? I was not logged into the
domain when I did.

Try it with everything close, maybe even a re-boot or from a different computer.
