Personal Folders Backup Failure

All of a sudden, when I am prompted to backup my Personal Folders, the
animated dialog box that says "Saving..." doesn't appear any more. After a
while I get an error message that says Outlook didn't close properly. I have
uninstalled and reinstalled the Personal Folders Backup add-in and that
doesn't resolve the problem. Does anyone know how to fix this?

As the msg states OL didnt close properly and the Backup will not run unless
OL has closed completely.
You dont mention your version of OL, which may be relevent.
Initially run an OL Detect/Repair, then locate & run scanpst.exe, the repair
tool, on your pst file (with OL closed)

Outlook 2003. I ran detect and repair and the Inbox Repair Tool. Neither
fixed the problem. I switched to a backup copy of the PST and that didn't
resolve the issue either. Any other thoughts?

You would need to asertain what addons are installed, that maybe preventing
OL shutting down.

When you close OL, if you then open up Task Manager and view running
processes is outlook.exe shown?
Do you have any third party Desk Top Search installed?
Or any Anti Virus intergrated with outlook?
