I keep getting an error if I try to import a photodraw .mix file as a
background into an object in MS Word 2007. Is there something I can download
to correct that and make it possible for MS Word 2007 to recognize the .mix
files without having to first convert it into a .png file???

Hi J.B.,

There were two flavors of MS .MIX files. The layered one that MS Office Photodraw used and the 'flattened' (no longer editable
individual objects) that was used by MS PictureIt! and MS Digital Image. Neither .MIX version is supported in Office 2007 and with
the 'flattened' version you'll usually have smaller files and more compatibility with the .PNG export from Photodraw, unless you're
able to use the 'Send to Microsoft Word' export feature in Photodraw.

As Photodraw tends to be a bit of a problem working reliably with most things these days :( what version of Windows are you using
to be able to run both Office 2007 and Photodraw together?

Bob,

Thanks for your answer. Sorry to take so long to reply. I've got Windows XP.
Both MS Word 2007 and Photodraw run on it ok. I LOVE photodraw for what I do
and have resorted to converting all images to .png files for import. However,
if MS ever releases a way to make then compatible w/o doing so I'll be the
first to use it. If you ever hear or find of a way to do so, please contact
me at (e-mail address removed)
Thanks again.
