Play .mov files in PowerPoint 2003?

Is there an easy way to play .mov files in PowerPoint? I'm not having any
success, and can only find conflicting information on the subject. Some
Microsoft lists of supported file formats include .mov and some do not.

I have the most current version of PowerPoint, Windows Media Player and
QuickTime installed. Media Player is set to automatically download codecs.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I just downloaded the PFC free version, set my PowerPoint Security to
medium, and installed the program. However, so far I don't see a difference.
I can insert the QuickTime .mov file onto my slide, but it won't play. I
still get an error message indicating that Windows Media Player either
doesn't support the file type, or the codec used to compress the file.

I'm going to check with our IS Dept and see if I can upgrade to QuickTime
Pro, which allows you to convert .mov files to .avi. I know those work.

Thanks for the suggestion, though. I'll try it on one of my computers at
home and see if it works. We may have other issues with the computers here
at work.

MY mistake ... i think the apple format of .mov files the software cannot
do.... (due to copyright restrictions on the format - from memory)
