Please help!!! My form does not open

Evert

Hi
I have posted before on this forum adn always have got a very good response.
thank you all.
My problems is this:
While making changes to the subform inside the main form. the system told me
that it did not have enough memory etc... well I tried to fix the error using
the inofrmation that was posted and the conclusion was that I would have to
create another form. No problem.
I created the from called frmMain 1. In this form I have 3 subforms all
pointing to the main form's Associate ID field. So far so good.
Now, after adding a few fields that were needed in the table for one of the
subforms (tblMIV), I tried to open its subform (frmMIV1) to add the fields
and change the layout in design view (after closing the frmMain 1 form) it
did not let me open.It does not let me open the newly created form frmMain 1
either.
It let's me however open all the other subforms. with no problem.

The data for the subform frmMIV1 does come from the table tblMIV.
Am I doing something wrong by closing the main form, Adding to the table and
then opening the subform?
Why do I have two instances where no data has been input and the main form
either throws me an error or it fails to open. I did close access completely
adn got back in it wiht no results. Do I have conflicting fields and if so,
how do I get the forms back so I can fix it?
any and all help would be much appreciated.

Thank you All

Evert

Hi Evert,
it sounds like possible corruption of the form or subform or it is heading
towards corruption.
Try this: close the forms and close access.
Open access and make a backup of the frontend (or the whole database if it
is not split).
Now do a compact ane repair, ( you have a copy before the compact and repair
for safety).
Now open the database and go back to the forms that were misbehaving and see
how you go.

Hi Jeanette,

I have tried just that and still does not work. The problem seem sto be
repeatable so coruption may be the answer. Any Suggestion on how to see or
get rid of hte corrupted data?

Thanks

I was thinking of one of the forms becoming corrupted, not the data. Forms
can easily get corrupted as you are developing your database.

Here's something different to try.
Create a new form for frmMain1 - nothing fancy - you can use the wizard -
don't bother with any formatting or design for the form. This is basically a
test form.
Now create a new form for frmMIV1 in similar fashion to the new frmMain1.
Just try with these 2 forms.
Open the new frmMain1 in design view and put the new frmMIV1 in it as a
subform.
See if it will work.
If it does, then you can think about trying the other 2 subforms on it and
making it look more pleasing.
