Poor Image Quality

DataSys

Hi All,

I'm having a problem with the quality of images I'm inserting into
PowerPoint. The images are simple screenshots of some software but each
time I insert them into Powerpoint, the images are not as sharp as the
original image I have captured.

I've tried virtually every file type (bmp, jpg, png, tiff, pdf), turned
off (tried to) compression via 'Save As', downloaded screen capture
utilities (SnagIt) and used other machines with different versions of
PowerPoint (XP - Office 2002, 2003 and 2007).

I have also read (and tried) solutions posted in many, many threads and
but still can't get a good copy to display.

After all the work I have done in trying to find an answer, the next
step is to ask people on this site if they have any answers.
Alternatively, is there anyone here who would be kind enough to test one
of my images and tell me how they have done it if successful?

The only thing I can think of now, is that it must be the image
itself.

Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

Best wishes,

DataSys

Thank you Simon. I've attached a zipped file of the same image but i
different formats. If you open the file with 'Windows Picture and Fax
viewer, the level of detail is what I would expect from PowerPoint, no
blurred but sharp.

Thank you very much, I'll look forward to see what you get.

Well, i had a look, and tried a few different formats i.e jpeg and gif
it is degraded a little, but you must remember you are viewing th
picture smaller in powerpoint than in a picture viewer, try looking a
your presentation as a slide show so you can see the slide full screen
it looks a lot better

Hi Simon, thank you for looking. I'm glad you have noticed that the
pictures are degraded. That rules out anything I'm doing! However, as
you say, the pictures are 'degraded', are you saying it's not possible
to get them as sharp as what you would find in Picture Viewer? I have
looked at the presentation in Slide Show view and this is where the
problem is, even at full screen

higher resolution, but then again i'm no expert with PowerPoint emb
