Possible to open file made in Professional Version in Standard Ver

My work computer has Visio 2003 Standard installed. In order to avoid having
to bring my laptop home when I need to work at home, I am considering buying
Visio and installing it on my home laptop. In looking at the product
comparisons, there are some drawing components that are available in the
professional version that are not in the standard version.

Will I be able to open and view a complete drawings made or edited with
Visio 2003 Pro in Visio 2003 Standard without problems?

Also, if I bought Visio 2007 Pro, would I be able to open files in Visio
2003 Standard without problems?

My concern is that perhaps drawing components not available in the standard
versions might not show up. Please let me know if there are other issues
that might arise as well.

You will be able to open Visio Pro files in Visio Standard, but some of the
add-ins will be missing. If you change the file, you should not lose any
functionality when you go back to Pro.

Visio 2007 can open Visio 2003 files and any previous version. What may be a
problem is using some of the newer features in 2007 like Data Graphics and
Themes. You should still be able to open the Visio 2007 file in Visio 2003,
but some of the newer features will be dumbed down.
