Power point opening time delayâ€

Hi,

On a client's mechine we are having delayed opening time issues (10 minutes
to over 1 hour) to launch files (400 MB size) using PowerPoint viewer
(slideshow mode). We partially resolved this (opening time delay reduced to
1-2 minutes) by:

Installing the Office 2003 Update: Redistributable Primary Interop
Assemblies (O2003PIA.EXE).
Changed the Office 2003 setup by enabling .NET Programmability Support for
PowerPoint.

System Configuration:
OS : Windows XP Home Edition
MS Office : Microsoft Office Professional 2003 - fully updated using
Microsoft Update

..NET Framework: .NET Framework 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5

What can we do next to resolve the opening time delay?

Hi,


if it was 1 or 2 MB file , I wouldnt have suggested these.
NOT in any particular order,

My suggestions are
Increase RAM to at least 3 GB,
Decrease Hardware acceleration to None
Upgrade Direct x.
Install Graphics card which had atleast 256 MB RAM.
If you are starting or opening the file from CD/removable drives, copy it to
Hard drive and then open it,
