My powerpoint and microsoft word program does not recognize my dvd or cd
drive. When I click send to these drives do not appear only my floppy drive.
I know my drives are working becauseI can copy these by using my sonic dvd
program. This is a new problem. I have not added any new hardware

I would not save to the DVD or CD drive directly. Doing so is just asking
for corrupt files. You're much better off saving to your hard drive and then
using your CD/DVD burning software to move or copy the file to CD/DVD.

That said, I don't know why PPT does not recognize the drive. I do know that
PPT automatically uses the "highest" level drive when inserting CD tracks
(for instance, if you have a CD/DVD drive mapped as D:\ and another mapped
as E:\, PPT will automatically look in D, even if it's a DVD drive and not a
CD drive).

Now, if you're using File/Send to, the DVD and CD drives are not on the Send
to list, which could explain the problem. Are you sure you weren't using
File/Save As in the past?
