printing one page in both landscape and portrait

I want to print two pages of text and illistrations on one page, however one
side must be in portrait and the other side must be in landscape. I can do
this but the landscape always appears (on its half page) as a tiny quarter
page upright, instead of a full half page oriented sideways.
Can you please help me?
