Problem with time zone info in meeting requests

R

Richard Poworski

I use Novell Groupwise at work. I have been forwarding meeting requests to
my home account where I use a couple of Mac's, both using Entourage 12.1.4
for managing mail, contacts etc.

When I accept meeting requests from my Groupwise account, the meeting is
shown as an hour earlier than scheduled. The same meeting sent from
Groupwise to gmail, and Windoze outlook all show up in the correct time
slot.

Sending a meeting request from Entourage to Groupwise and gmail works fine.

I have checked my time zone references in system preferences on the macs,
checked under the preferences in entourage and even looked in the default
mac ical and mail applications for settings that need to be changed.
Nothing seems to help.

I am located in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada - which has its own time zone
listed everywhere.

Any idea on how I can get this rectified?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Richard!

What exactly is the problem with Entourage? Have I missed something?
This sounds like you need to post in the Groupwise forums or contact
them for support.

It seems to be the way that Entourage is interpreting the meeting request.
All the other products interpret it properly - its just Entourage that is
early by an hour.

Is there some sort of timezone config file that entourage uses that one
could look at to see if it needs some sort of hack?

Entourage uses your Mac OS X daylight saving settings. Verify that is
correct under Apple menu --> System Preferences... --> Date & Time.

Also, Entourage must know your current time zone. That is found under
Entourage menu --> Preferences... --> General Preferences --> Calendar.

Are both of these correct?
