Problems with Left-to-Right language

Good day;

- My new OS is XP prof service pack 2 (updated)
- I am running Microsft office 2000 premium on my computer backed with
Microsoft office 2000 proofing tools fully installed .
- My keyboard is a QWERTY carrying both alphabets’ letters, Latin and
Arabic, and both numbers Latin and Arabic.
- In international settings under languages à details à settings, in
addition to English and other languages, I have added the language Arabic
(Saudi Arabia) with the following keyboards layout options: Arabic (101) and
Arabic (102).

In Microsoft Word, whether using keyboard layouts Arabic (101) or Arabic
(102), I encounter the following two problems:

1. While all buttons relative to Arabic letters function normally, when I
push the buttons relative to the Arabic numbers nothing shows up!!! I even
tried to push all the buttons on my keyboard to see whether other buttons
correspond to the Arabic letters, no luck? I tried again changing the
Arabic language to (Egypt) it did not work. What should I do?

2. While all commands present on the formatting toolbar function properly
including Bold letters, Font, alignment, ect…, font size does not. In fact,
when changing font size using the command on the formatting toolbar the
command will always show the preset size it does not change; however; if
afterwards I check font size in: Standard Toolbar à Format à Font, the font
size indicates the one I have newly set!!!
The major problem however, is that the font size on the document itself does
not change?!
N.B.: This problem is not present while working with English Language!
What should I do?

P.S.: previously I had windows 98 Arabic Edition as OS on my computer and I
did not had such problems!

Thanks in advance
Carlo
