Project 2007 Professional and Proposed booking of Resources

I do not use Project Server (Yet) So I use a Resource Pool which currently
links to 16 projects. 6 of these projects are not yet orders, so I want to be
able to use proposed booking type for the resources on these non ordered
projects. However when I change the booking type in a specific project it
automatically changes the booking type in the Resource Pool and therefore all
other projects.

Does this feature only work if connected to project server?

Any info on this would be very welcome

Yes, the Booking field is specific to Project Server only. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dale, I thought this was the case.

In standard version 2003 I use a text field to cut the resouce names out of
the resource field so that they don't show up on the loading charts with the
project still connected to the resource pool, however stuff gets delayed and
when the project goes live I often find my resources are well over assigned
so then have to fiddle the books, so to speak.

If you can suggest a better way I'd appreciate it

Hi Matt,

You could create a resource for the tentative bookings -- for
example "Matt - proposed" and then when a project gets approved,
replace "Matt - proposed" with "Matt".
