Project Server 2003 and SharePoint Upgrade

We have recently upgraded our SharePoint server from 2003 to 2007 using
gradual approach. Gradual approach means that both version 2003 and 2007 will
run side-by-side as long as we want to.

If we want to access SharePoint 2003 site, MOSS 2007 redirects us to desired
SharePoint 2003 site on a new URL. Let us if my URL is
http://abc.companyname.com/sites/xyz, I will be redirected to
http://abc:45214/sites/xyz.

Our Project Server 2003 integration is broken and we face the following error:

“The documents, risks and issues features in Project Web Access use Windows
SharePoint Services.
There is a problem establishing a connection with the Web server running
Windows SharePoint Services. Contact your system administrator.â€

When I move from Admin > Manage Windows SharePoint Services, I receive the
following error:

“Error!
The account information for the Microsoft Office Project Server WSS Admin
COM+ application is incorrect.
To set the account information, run the PSCOMPlus tool installed with
Project Server, and set the Windows account that the component should run as.
For more information, refer to the Microsoft Office Project Server 2003
Installation Guide on the Microsoft Office Project Server menu (Start menu,
Programs submenu). “

The strange that moving from Manage Windows SharePoint Services > Manage
SharePoint Site and here if I "Test URL", I am redirected to SharePoint 2003.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried running PSCOMPlus and resetting the username and
password for the complus apps? I'm not sure why the process you went
through would cause this, but what happens if you do that?

Thanks for the reply.

I will really appreciate if you can provide steps to run PSCOMP and any
risks as we have to run this on our production environment.

Here are the steps for running the tool:

1. Locate the Microsoft Project Server\Bin\1033 folder, and then
double-click PSCOMPlus.exe.
2. Under Analysis Services (OLAP) Access Identity, type the Windows
account in the User Name box.
3. In the Password box, type the password for this account.
4. Under Sharepoint Team Services Administration Identity and
Sharepoint Team Service Database Access Identity, click to clear the
Process this identity update check boxes.

-or-

Under Sharepoint Team Services Administration Identity and Sharepoint
Team Service Database Access Identity, type the user name and
passwords for the appropriate accounts.
5. Click Create\Update COM+ Apps, and then click OK.

Are you running anything besides Project Server and SharePoint on this
machine and are they both running on the same service account? If
they are running on the same service account, enter that login
information into PSCOMPLUS and you should be working again.
