Project Server and PWA not responding and IIS

C

Chris King

Setup: Project Server 2007 SP1 w/ Infrastructure update
SQL Server 2005 SP2
PWA
Project Professional SP1

Problem: I have looked in the discussion board and online and have not
found anything that might explain this. Recently in the past month I have
noticed that PWA and Project Pro could not connect to the project server. It
would return a standard site can not be displayed error, etc. The server
itself is up and fully fuctional (All services running as the should be).
The only way to return everything to normal working conditions is to run and
IIS Reset from the command prompt on the server.

Once I run to IIS Reset everything works fine, however I would like to know
why all of a sudden after a year of everything working fine, that in the past
month I have had to do this 3 times.

If anyone has any thoughts on why this might be happening or ways I can
check and monitor to see why this is happening I would be greatly appreciated.

You might try setting up the PWA application pool to recycle once per day. I
have seen some servers need to have this done nightly to resolve this.

Hope this helps
