Project Server Migration

I want to move my Project Server 2007 web access site to another server with
a different hostname...

So I go to the old server's sharepoint admin->options->perform a backup and
check off everything under "Project Server" (Web application, content
database, pwa site, etc). Then I do a full backup to a shared folder
(completes successfully).

Next, I install Project Server 2007 on the new server and provision a
project web site. I go into sharepoint central admin on the new
server->Operations->Restore from backup, and type in the shared folder where
I saved the backup. I select all of the components to restore as a new
configuration. I enter the service account user/pass. I change the server
name to the new host for all of the databases, and put in new database names.

The restore runs for a few minutes and everything comes back "completed"
except for the entry for PWA which has:
"Object PWA failed in event OnPostRestore. For more information, see the
error log located in the backup directory. FileNotFoundException: The site
with the id xxxx-xx-xx-x-x-x could not be found."

And now the PWA front end just gives me an "unexpected error has occured".

What am I missing?

Hi Andy,

I dont know wheather its work for you, but its worked for me. I had the same
problem but then i figured out one thing which I missed.

Your new envirnoment must be identical as the old envirnoment. like if your
old envirnoment with SP1 and Infrasturctue Update then your new envirnoment
must have the same update. just make the identical then i think its will work.

thanks
Waqas
