Public Documents

Hi All,

In PWA Admin > Manage Windows Sharepoint Services > Connect to
Sharepoint Server I can see a link of the Public Documents site. What
is the significance of this site to Project Server? Will the system
have a problem if the site is disabled or deleted? If there is, what
are the problems?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the response.

Actually my question stemmed from the issue we face with the Public
Documents. We are also using this site to put documents for public
use. In our public document site, we added all users (except admins)
as Readers only. The issue we have is whenever we add new users to the
system, we cannot do synchronize on the public site since it will
change all users to project managers and are able to add/edit/delete
public docs which we want to avoid.

Have you encountered any of this issue?

thanks and best rgds,

Noynoy

NoyNoy:

To get around this I suggest that you create a separate document library in
SharePoint that you manage manually. Link to it from the QuickLaunch. You
can either change the link settings to the Public Documents link or add a
separate link.
