Publisher 2007 crashing

A

AQP Printer

When I try to open either a new or older file from Microsoft Publisher, it
crashes and says Microsoft Publisher has encountered a problem and must
close. It has no pattern really. Some that I have recently created I can open
and others I cannot. I've run the diagnostics, done all updates to XP and
Office 2007 Pro. I've sent the error reports several times as well. This is
quite frustrating because Publisher is a cog program in our office. I have
also uninstalled and reinstalled office. The only thing I can think of is we
recently upgraded to XP SP3. The issue has really only arisen since then. For
some reason in my add/remove programs in won't allow me to remove it.

A couple of things you can try. Select a different printer, if this solves your
problem, go to the web site of your printer model and look around for an updated
driver. It is always wise to completely remove a driver before
installing/reinstalling.

If you have lots of graphics in the files you cannot open your video/graphics
driver may be at fault. Here again, go to the manufacturer's web site and look
around for an updated driver.

If this problem started after you updated Publisher with the service pack two,
you may need to install the hotfix.
