Publishing a Project to Project Server

Ketut Mahaindra

Hi,

I am trying to publish a project from Project Professional to Project
Server. I got the following error message.
"You are trying to publish a non-enterprise project to MicrosoftProject
Server.
The administrator settings on the server does not allow you to publish
non-enterprise projects."

Questions:
1. I am the Administrator of the server. How do I set on the server to allow
publishing non-enterprise project?
2. How can I promote a project to enterprise level, while the menu "Tools ->
Enterprise Options -> Import Project to Enterprise..." is disabled.

Thanks for the help

Best regards

Ito

When you receive this error message, it indicates that you are not logged
into Project Server through Microsoft Project 2002. Here's how to confirm
this situation, and to correct it:

1. Open Microsoft Project 2002
2. Click Tools - Enterprise Options - Microsoft Project Server Accounts...

In the Microsoft Project Server Accounts dialog box, there is a "Current
Account" value shown beneath the Add and Remove buttons. If the Current
Account is "My Computer", then you are not logged into Project Server. If
this is the case, continue with the following steps:

3. Click the Add... button
4. Enter an Account Name and a valid Microsoft Project Server URL
5. Click the Test Connection button to make sure you have a working
connection to the Project Server
6. Click the "Set as default account" option, then click the OK button
7. Click the "Manually control connection state" option and then click the
OK button
8. Close Microsoft Project 2002
9. Reopen Microsoft Project 2002, make sure your user account is selected,
then click the Connect button

To bring the non-enterprise project into the Project Server database, so
that you can then publish it, you should now click Tools - Enterprise
Options - Import Project to Enterprise, and then follow the steps in the
Import Wizard. The reason that this menu was disabled previously was also
due to the fact that you were not logged into Project Server through
Microsoft Project 2002. Hope this helps.
