PWA Project Centre Schedule View is Different in Project Pro 2007

Hi,

Using MPSe 2007 with SP1 and 2 installed, but none of the cumulative
updates from Decmber 2008 to now.

I have an issue where a PM has published a schedule in PWA. When
opening the schedule in Project Centre the file is exactly as
expected. When opening the schedule from Project Centre to edit it in
Project Professional, however, the Project Professional version
changes the order of some tasks and rearranges the outline levels. So,
in Project Centre PWA view I have 5 tasks at Outline Level 1 (right).
When I open the file from PWA in Project Professional I have 30 tasks
at Outline Level 1 (wrong).

I have tried opening the file in Project Professional from the higher
level (initial) Project Centre view, the Project Centre view of the
actual schedule, and direct from the published database. Each time the
result is the same. I have tried on multiple profiles and machines. I
have also done an administrative restore for working to the exact
version saved during the publish operation with the same result.

Any thoughts are very much appreciated,

Paul

Paul,

Just a thought but did you check the project file to be sure no custom
filters or auto filters were applied that may be changing the view in Project
Pro?

Darrell,

Thanks for this. We don't have any views set up that interfere with
the Outline Level column. The data in this column is actually
different in the published version on Project Centre than when the
same published version is opened in Project Professional.

This was a sign that our virtualisation software was up the spout.
Fixing it did not fix this problem, the file had to be manually
corrected and then re-published.
