Anyone know how to make those boxes in powerpoint that look like they
have been torn off a page (like they do for newpaper quotes)? Thanks for
the help.

Use AutoShape - Lines - FreehandShape to draw such a box, right click and
close the path, if necessary, then use a scanned image of the newspaper
article as a fill.

Kind regards,

If you don't have a scanned newspaper image to use, follow Ute's
instructions - draw a Freeform or Scribble curve - then select "Fill
Effects" from the fill color drop-down. On the Texture tab, select one
of these textures: Newsprint, Recycled paper, Parchment, Stationary.

Then add a textbox over the torn paper shape to add your text.

Also, whether you use a scanned image or a texture fill, it might look
even nicer if you remove the outline as well by setting the line color
to "No Line".
