I sent a message to The Boss and User A and requested a read receipt (Outlook
2000, Exchange 2000). Both users were out of the office for the day. Later
in the day I got a read receipt for the message from User B, who was not even
sent the original message.
User B has Send on Behalf of permission as well as Author permissions on The
Boss's inbox, but she says she never got any message in her own inbox and did
not respond to or read anything in The Boss's inbox. User A has no
permissions to access The Boss's inbox.
Upon looking in The Boss's inbox, I see that the message is not showing in
bold like the rest of the unread messages, as if someone has read it. His
workstation was sitting at the Ctrl-Alt-Del screen when I went to investigate
and had been all day. Does anyone know why User B is sending read receipts
for messages that were not sent to her and were never read by her?
