Recent Word Security Update Error? (KB956358)

Is anyone else having severe problems with any documents which were created
using "forms" in 2003 compatibility mode after installing this update.
Before the update everything in my form based business document under Word
2007 worked perfectly and are in proper order. But .. immediately following
this update all of our form based documents are completely ruined. Its as if
they are taken from full page documents and then smashed upwards into a big
pile on the screen.

If anyone else is having this occur, please write.

I have experienced severe problems with word 2007 after this security
upgrade. Word 2007 is left more or less useless. It is impossible to position
the cursor in any document by use of the mouse, while it is still possible by
using the arrow keys on the keyboard. This happens with previously created
documents as well as new documents. When I exit Word 2007 I always get the
error message: "Word has stopped working. Windows is looking for a solution
for the problem". This happens also when I start Word 2007 with a blank
dokument, and exit Word without writing a single character.

I tried to uninstall the security upgrade, but without any success.

"Word Options" in the file menu are totally unavailable. It is impossible to
navigate in this meny neither with mouse nor keyboard.

We believe it is the result of leaving Word up and running whilst updating
takes place. There are hundreds of similar posts about it, so I guess it is
best not leave Word running whilst you are away from your computer.

You need to run Regedit, navigate to the Word Data Key and delete it.

Thanks Terry

This solved my problem, but I feel I have to correct your statement a bit. I
did not leave my computer with Word running. I was sitting by my computer
working, and suddenly it restarted, and started installing updates without
any kind of preceeding warning.

Conclusively, it is the updates running whilst Word is still open: not that
I am blaming you The update process should not interrupt current operations
without first warning and giving the user the opportunity to save and close
open work. It happens far too frequently.
