repeating error message - won't go away

I sent an email to two (2) addresses, one of them had an extra character (my mistake) so it didn't send. Every time my send/receive runs (every five minutes) I keep getting the bad address syntax, error 17099 5.1.3. I have cleared my log and deleted the errors, but they just keep piling up in the error log, and I can't figure out how to make it stop. The email does not show up in my sent box or drafts box, so I have no way of deleting it. Thank you for your help.

Messages that have yet to be sent successfully remain in the Outbox, which
is a folder under "On My Computer". Open your Outbox, and then locate the
message. You can double-click it, correct the address, and send it if you
wish. Or, you can just delete it.
