Reports are sooo slooow

I'm editing a report and it reacts very slowly, ie I click on a control in
design mode, and I'll get the hourglass for 5-10 seconds. This is on the same
machine, same apps running where editing forms is fairly quick.

Are reports inherently slower? Any theories what's going on?

Microsoft reccomends to move your reports to Access Data Projects for
performance reasons.

You may note that the previous reply provides no links to the Microsoft
"recommendation".

Reports are not inherently slower. The frist thing to check is Name
AutoCorrect. This is a good idea that just doesn't work as intended. To
turn off Name AutoCorrect, go to Tools >> Options. Click the General tab,
and clear all text boxes related to this "feature".

Access MDB is always slower than ADP.
that is why MS and 90% of 'real developers' reccomend moving to SQL
Server.

What do unemployed "developers" such as yourself like to use?

where do you come up with this crap?

I'm certified DBA. Are you?
Do you know how to even _SPELL_ the worlds most popular database?

yah you're right.

trying to do the same thing and expecting different results??

stop slaving with workarounds-- move to SQL Server. Even if it means
you've got to take a class.
I think that I've spent maybe $10k in classes in the past decade.

Have you?

Ok, kids, that's enough bickering. Cripes, are you guys in the 3rd grade?

Thank you for the idea on Access Data Projects. Upon researching that, I'd
say that's outside the scope of our project.

Any other constructive ideas?

And thanks also for the tip about NameAutoCorrect. I have already learned the
downfalls of that feature, and it is already disabled.

Regretfully Aaron Kempf has a long history of disturbances in this

Regretfully, Tony has a long history of choosing the 'old way' instead
of the 'right way'.
