Researching Project to replace OneNote management/documentation sy

Our team currently manages everything using OneNote. For example, I have a
page that consists of my weekly tasks (with checkboxes). Each task contains
a hyperlink to the documentation within the OneNote system.
We are considering moving our documentation/Project Management system from
OneNote to Project.
I would like to know how your business/company fares now with Project in
comparison to pre-Project.
If you use Project with SharePoint, even better!

Huge loaded question. Simplistically. Project is not at all equal to
One Note. SharePoint could do what One Note does for you, but you'll
likely find that One Note is a lot more sophisticated.

Microsoft Project is a tool to compute project schedules.

I've had good success at using SharePoint for project teams, espeically
when geographically distributed, as tool to facilitate collaboration of
information for projects and contribute to "one version of the truth".
But that was without having One Note as a possiblity. I guess if I had
a choice I'd use SharePoint as it's simpler.

You can use Project with SharePoint with add-ins like Project Publisher.
Microsoft has Project Server which is uses SharePoint.

Huge question. I've hardly touched the surface.
