Rich Text Boxes and Response Time

Lisa

We use Infopath 2007 for Employee Appraisals. From last quarter's version to
this quarter, we have converted the text boxes to Rich Text to take advantage
of some of the features. Most of our users are accessing the form as a web
form and they have noticed a significant decrease in response time just
navigating around the form, in particular with the rich text boxes. Does
anyone have any insight on whether or not rich text boxes do cause response
times to increase?

Thanks.

Also, to add to this, the rich text boxes are very ackward. In particular, I
have one that is in a repeating table. When you add a row to the table, the
refresh causes the previous boxes to appear blank for 5-10 seconds then show
their content. Also, there is a ghost-like image of the format menu that
covers the rich text box above. This is really confusing and aggravating our
users. Any ideas are welcome.
TIA

Thank you for the link. I had found another article but it wasn't as helpful
as this one. There are a number of things affecting the performance on this
form and this has helped me look at some alternatives. Also, the form library
was slow to load, and we think we have determined the cause.
Thanks again.
