save as jpeg

I have inserted a photo into a slide and added text and autoshapes to the
slide. I would like now to save the resulting slide as a jpeg so that I can
print the slide/photo. The original photo was a jpeg of about 400 kb, 1600 x
1200 pixels but the resulting saved slide as a jpeg is only about 85 kb, and
750 x 430 pixels.

Short of buying ppt tools, can't I get powerpoint to save the slide as a
higher resolution, being that the original picture that was inserted was of a
higher resolution?

thanks Steve, I can't just print from PP because I am not printing these
pictures myself, rather, need to put them on a disc and take them to "Costco"
of all places to have prints made. Too many for me to do myself.

PP has been the easiest and best way for me to add captions and autoshape
text boxes to photos and then print. I just need to find a way to keep the
original digital photo quality.

Remember, PPT is designed as a multimedia application. That said, print
output is not its strength. PPT works at 72dpi, high quality print at
300dpi. For you exact needs, PPT may not be the best software, where a
desktop publishing application or photo editing software would accomplish
the same result and output the highest quality file for print.

If using PPT my recommendation is the use on of the add-ins that enhance
PPTs output options:
