Save as PDF Error

I am using MS Office 2007 and Visio 2007. I'v e downloaded the microsoft
add-in that allows you to save/publish your document as a PDF file. Itried it
in Visio but I get the following error message:

Visio Internal Error #3400
Action 2117 Publish as PDF or XPS

or

Visio Internal Error #3400
Action #1005.

I looked at the microsoft support site and internal error #3400 states that
the file is damaged or corrupt. The file I am trying to save or publish is
fine. I can open it and it is normal.

Has anyone had any sucess with this microsoft add-in??? I can't seem to save
my other Office 2007 files as a PDF as well. Saving a Visio file in PDF
format is more important to me. I can use another program that prints it, but
I would rather use the microsoft program if possible.

Any insight to resolving the problem is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Error 3400 doesn't necessarily mean corrupt, but if you try inserting it as
an object into a blank Visio drawing, it could be.

Create a blank Visio drawing (.vsd), save it, and try to publish that as PDF
using the add-in on the File menu in Visio. Does that work?

If you can publish a blank drawing to PDF , is there anything special about
the drawings? (e.g. large page size, large file size, embedded objects like
charts; pictures; CAD drawings; etc...)

Is there anything outside the drawing area on the scratch (gray) area?

Also, do you know if the PDF/XPS add-in is Beta or the most recent release?
You should be able to tell by looking at it in Add or Remove Programs
(Programs and Features in Vista).

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

The version I'm using is:
File Name: SaveAsPDFandXPS.exe
Version: 1.0
Date Published: 11/8/2006

I created and saved a blank drawing. I tried to publish and save the "saved
blank drawing" as a PDF, but I recieve the error messages. However, I can
publish and save a XPS file.

I just realized that the add-in(s) are for windows XP SP2 and server 2003
and I am running vista.

Could this be the problem???

Well, I'm running Office 2007 and Visio 2007 on Vista with the add-in and
everything works fine from Visio 2007 and the other Office applications.

My add-in was downloaded from --
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...11-3E7E-4AE6-B059-A2E79ED87041&displaylang=en

The add-in is only supported on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. But for
the sake of this newsgroup discussion, it's working on my Vista machine.

If you're not able to save from any other Office 2007 applications then I
would verify what exact versions you have installed. Do you have either Beta
for Office 2007 or Visio 2007 installed? If you're not sure you should be
able to tell by looking in Programs and Features in Control Panel. It should
say (Beta) next to the program name.

If nothing is Beta (Office 2007, Visio 2007, or the PDF/XPS add-in), then I
would repair the add-in from Programs and Features.

Also, just to be verify; what are the exact steps you're trying to publish
the drawing ot PDF in Visio? Are you going File > Publish as PDF or XPS... >
click Publish button?
